JDownloader is an open-source download manager written in Java. Thus, it can be run on multiple platforms, such as Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. This tool has an extensive plug-in support that allows you to download files from a variety of different file sharing websites, like Rapidshare, Megaupload, etc.
You can add files to your download queue manually, but JDownloader has an automatic link fetcher that can automatically go to a website full of download links and add them all to your download queue. This is very useful when you want to download several files off Rapidshare and you don't have the time to add them one by one or start the downloads one after the other (since you can't download more than one at the time if you don't have a paid account). The app can just add them all and download them as they become available. I have tried downloading files from Rapidshare with JDownloader in the past, with mixed results. Most of the time, the application worked fine and it saved me hours and hours of waiting time. This is a great tool to have if you don't have a Rapidshare paid account, but it is also useful if you have one, because you can type in your details and download lots of files at the same time.
JDownloader can also decompress archives that you download with it and automatically type in text into some CAPTCHA screens.
