ImTOO iPhone Transfer is a tool that lets you backup your iPhone. It lets you download your music, movies, books, photos, ringtones and voice memos. With this app, you can either transfer data from the iPhone to your Mac, or the other way around. For example, you can add music to your iPhone without syncing it to iTunes.
When you first launch this application with your iPhone connected, the app will detect it and show you some information about it, including the model, capacity, space used in music, video, photos, books, etc, your serial number and firmware version. On the left part of the screen, you will see the device, and under it all the categories. If you click on Music, for example, all the songs on your device will be displayed, and you can check them to download them back to your Mac. The same goes for the rest of the categories. Downloading content is as easy as checking it and clicking on the "Download" button.
If you want to copy a song to the iPhone, there is a button for that at the bottom of the screen. You simply select the file, and if the format is supported, it will be added to the iPhone.
I tested this app with my aging iPhone 3G and it worked great.
