Info updated on:

Image2Text is an application that recognizes text in image files and scanned PDF documents. The purpose of this tool is to help you reuse the text content in your projects or in other applications for further editing.

Once the utility is launched, you need to select the input source among multiple alternatives. Dropping an image directly into the app is also supported. Then, you can configure the conversion options, which are rather scarce. Therefore, you have the ability to rename the output file and apply basic text formatting. This way, you can choose to preserve the original indents and the soft wraps, align headers and footers, and set the maximum blank rows and columns. The moment you finished adjusting the output settings, your intention is to press the back arrow to exit the settings. Actually, you need to press the small and rather imperceptible Go button placed inconveniently in the top-right corner of the settings window. Besides being difficult to manage, the tool doesn't even let you extract the converted text. A popup appears above the window informing that you need to subscribe in order to benefit of the trial version. Moreover, you find out that you get billed after the so-called one week free trial is over.

In short, trying to extract text from images with Image2Text is a waste of time and energy. All the above-mentioned details makes me reluctant to recommend the use of this application.
