iFunia Apple TV Video Converter is a video conversion tool that can come in handy if you want to watch your videos on your AppleTV.

As you may know, Apple's devices don't necessarily have the best format support. In fact, only a handful of formats are supported by them, including H.264, MPEG-4, M4V and MOV. This application can load pretty much any popular video format and convert it to H.264, MPEG-4 for video, or M4A, MP3, WAV and AIFF for audio.

The application comes with two conversion profiles for high definition (HD) files. They allow you to convert files into 720p and 1080p. If you have the AppleTV 3, then you can take advantage of the 1080p profiles.

This converter comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties. It places the original video on the left, and a preview of what the resulting file will look on the right.

In my testing, this application performed quite well with AVI and MP4 files, but I experienced some audio problems with MKV files with AC3 soundtracks. When I loaded one of those files, the voices didn't play at all in the editor's player. After being converted, the voices were there, but played only on the right channel, and all the other sounds played on the left, which was a bit confusing. The application probably has issues trying to decode multi-channel audio and that may be what is causing problems.
