HandyShare is specifically intended to edit video and audio files recorded with Zoom’s Q-series Handy Video Cameras.

In this respect, it supports models Q8, Q4n, Q2n and Q2n-4K. Luckily, there is a well-structured user guide with many illustrations about its use.

The application can be set to start automatically when one of the supported camera models is connected to your computer. Then, it can import the available recordings and organize them into libraries. Moreover, it lets you work with any local MOV file irrespective of how it was originally acquired. Libraries are intended to help you view, manage and catalog the imported media files by means of albums, folders and playlists.

HandyShare can edit videos of up to 4K resolution. Likewise, it supports previewing video in real time. Similarly, it is possible to take snapshots of your favorite frames. In the case of audio recordings, you can also get visual feedback through waveforms. Unluckily, the application does not support many editing features. In this respect, it only allows trimming video, extracting audio and adding a few sound effects. This means that it cannot be used to merge various files.

Although the developers claim the application supports sharing video via social networks, there is no real integration with YouTube. In this regard, it only makes sure that the exported files can be readily uploaded to YouTube.

All things considered, HandyShare is a nice compliment if you own a Zoom’s Handy video camera. The product is free to download from their site. However, it is not the best choice if you need an app for media editing purposes.
