Over 600 black-and-white photographs taken mostly in 1942 by Andreas Feininger, one of the most famous photographers working for the US Office of War Information (OWI). Each photo shows the Library of Congress caption and date.
Andreas Feininger joined the staff of Life Magazine in 1943. He completed 346 assignments for Life before leaving in 1962. In 1942 the Office of War Information (OWI) hired Feininger to photograph factories producing weapons and instruments for the war.
