When browsing through the system the most important thing to consider is the intuitivity and easiness to move through the folders and copy files from one directory to another.

One such tool was developed by Michael Herrmann and is called Fman.

Its interface looks quite common to other file manager utilities, and it's comprised of a dual-panel where there are displayed various directories from the system. The background has a dark theme and it can't be customized. Neither the fonts or other customizations.

As per what it can do, Fman is very useful for copying and moving files, browsing directories, or mounting external drives. Thanks to its intuitive main menu it makes file handling extremely easy.

It comes with shortcuts for copying files, and you don't have to use multiple windows to move files. More, it supports drag and drop and batch processing.

All things considered, Fman is a simple but effective alternative to Explorer or Finder, but it does come with a con: it's high price. Try it and if the ratio between price and functionalities pleases you, buy it.

Pros

  • Supports batch processing
  • Includes a drag and drop function
  • Mounts external drives

Cons

  • Has a high price tag
  • Lacks font customizations
