Info updated on:

Flickr Uploader is a desktop application that makes uploading both photos and videos quite an easy task. To start using the application you need to sign in to your Flickr account. If you don't have one you can create it from within the application or use Facebook to log in, which is very convenient. After you are logged in, you can access the Preferences window, from where you can change how your media is uploaded to Flickr's servers.

By default, your photos aren't resized, but you can set the app to resize them using four different templates. The smallest one is 800 pixels and the largest one, 2048 pixels, which is the best setting for archiving pictures. Unless you change your privacy settings, all the photos that you upload using this tool will be available to anyone on Flickr. However, you can set the app so that your uploads can only be seen by you, your friends and your family.

I am not a heavy-duty Flickr user but I can tell that this application makes using the service a lot easier than just using the website. Uploads are fast and after the application is done uploading your photos, it can take you directly to your Flickr account so that you can share the photos or edit their information online.
