Exporter for Contacts has a self-explicable name. This tool helps you extract various data from Mac Contacts and make them available for other applications and purposes. In this respect, various output formats are supported, including Excel (XLSX), CSV, tab-delimited text, Outlook, Gmail contacts, XML, and HTML table.

The application is very easy to use. It is excellent that its workflow is perfectly reflected in the available wizard, which takes you through the steps of picking an output format, choosing items to export and customizing fields. In this respect, there are a series of built-in templates to help you save some time and effort. Yet, much better than that, you can create and save your own templates for later use.

The tool has some other advantages. For instance, it can recognize fields with labels other than the standard ones. Likewise, it allows using additional fields, which you can create during the export process. Moreover, it ensures phone numbers are all exported in a similar format to prevent confusion. Finally, the big emphasis is put on the app’s doing all the process locally, which ensures no data is sent over the network. However, this is also a drawback in case you would like to synchronize contact data across various devices.

All in all, Exporter for Contacts allows you to export different types of contact data and make them available for other commonly used applications. Fortunately, the product can be tried at no cost. Yet, its trial version trims long field data so it has very limited use.
