Coloristic is a desktop tool designed to help you identify color codes on your computer. The utility also enables you to zoom in any area from your desktop, measure distances between the pixels from your screen, and save magnified images to any folder destination on your Mac.
This type of application comes in handy to app developers who need to easily determine RGB, CMY, HSB or HTML codes for any shade within their screens. You can choose the preferred code type from the Color Format panel which can be found in the main menu of the program.
The utility also lets you select the proper magnification level (1x, 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x or 32x) from the Color Format menu. You can also change the zoom in options with certain key combinations.
Another important advantage is that you can take snapshots of the main window of the app and save the screenshots as JPEG, PNTG, PSD, PCT or SGI files.
My only problem with this application is the fact that it doesn't let you use a key combination or hotkey to copy color codes to your clipboard.
Nevertheless, the program worked great and didn't require a help guide to learn how to handle it. Plus, Coloristic comes with a reasonable price considering the amount of useful features it has to offer. So, I think it's worth a try.
- User-friendly interface

- Lacks a hotkey combination for copying color codes to clipboard
