Info updated on:

ChatBot is an app that lets you chat with Qwerty, an artificial intelligence. As the name suggests, the app is a chat box, where you can chat in real time with Qwerty. You can write anything you want and the AI will reply. Most of the time, what the bot replies makes sense. And I was surprised to see that, at times, the AI even tries to be funny. The bot seems to respond to keywords and I think that you must have an Internet connection for it to work.

In my testing, I started by introducing myself and asking some basic questions, to which the bot replied quite well. The usual "How are you?", "What is your name?", etc didn't present any problems to Qwerty, but as the language became more complex, it didn't really know what to reply, and it ended up saying things that didn't make any sense.

ChatBot can tap into the text-to-speech engine on your Mac, and by default, this setting is activated. Thus, Qwerty speaks to you using your Mac's voice.

All in all, this app is an interesting proof of concept. It works mostly well, but it still shows the limitations of the artificial intelligence that powers it.
