CDXtract is a tool especially designed for professional musicians. It offers an environment for sampling as well as converting between multiple audio extensions. The application also comes with a built-in audio player and a database manager that allows you to listen and keep track of sample files.
CDXtract works with a great deal of input and output extensions, some of which are only supported on hardware samplers. After creating an audio loop, you can either listen or convert it to one of multiple available formats.
The application includes two types of players for working with sample files: Advanced and Magic. The Advanced player provides accurate, high-quality playback for samples otherwise suited for hardware devices. The Magic Player component is designed to parse and preview CDs or DVDs filled with sample extensions.
The feature list of CDXtract is certainly impressive. The utility can loop audio sample files ranging across a wide number of formats, offering playback and conversion capabilities. The interface however looks outdated and is in no way intuitive to work with. All program functions are scattered across the layout and without thoroughly reading the manual, it becomes rather hard to take advantage of them.
