The utility brings you an interface that looks a lot like the Windows Explorer. Even if you're not familiar with the aforementioned utility, you can still easily figure out how B1 Free Archiver works. Plus, the app comes with an integrated help guide that provides you with all the information you could possibly need.
You can extract files of various formats and easily create and password-protect archives.
Unfortunately, the app supports only 2 formats when creating archive files (B1 and ZIP). Still, the ZIP format is very popular and supported by many operating systems and archive file managers. So, I don't think this aspect is a big deal.
Cutting a long story short, I'd say B1 Free Archiver is a smart addition to your collection of Mac apps as Mac's default archive file manager isn't as feature-rich as this program. Plus, it's free of charge. So, you don't have anything to lose if you decide to give it a try on your computer.
