AutoDMG is intended to create macOS images, which can be deployed on multiple Apple computers using various methods, such as Terminal, Imagr, LANrev, Jamf Pro, DeployStudio and Absolute Manage.
The tool has a minimalistic graphic user interface and most of the operations can be done without leaving its main window. You can start by dragging and dropping the desired macOS image on the marked region and let the application automatically analyze it and determine which updates are available for downloading. Next, you can select the updates you want to include in your distribution. Likewise, it is possible to add PKG installation packages.
Once you have concluded setting up the image, you can proceed to actually generate it. Notice that this process may take a while. Although it is good you receive feedback information as to its progress, stopping or pausing the creation of the image is not allowed at this point.
All in all, AutoDMG minimizes the effort and time required to deploy software on various workstations, that is why it comes in handier for specialized staff. Luckily, this product is opensource and available at no cost.
