Atom Zombie Smasher is a fun multi-platform strategy game, in which you plan evacuation of the town and save as many people as you can from hordes of zombies. At first, you are only given a few tools to aid you in the evacuation, but as you progress through the game, you will have more and more means to ensure the safety of the townspeople.
The game is played from an overview perspective. Before each round, you place your weapons and elements. For example, on level four or five, I already had a rescue helicopter a squad of soliders, artillery, and demolition charges available to me. Your game plan will determine if you meet the quota of saved people necessary to pass each level.
The gameplay is dynamic and exciting. You see zombies as fucsia dots on the map and civilians are yellow. You need to set the landing zone so that the chopper can come in and load as many people as possible before the zombies take the area. You can change landing zones during the game. The great thing about the game is that you have absolute freedom about how you want to evacuate a town.
There is a demo available that lets you play the first few levels of the campaign. It is more than enough to learn the mechanics of the game and get a taste of the action.
The game's price is $15 if you buy from the developer, but as it is often the case, Steam has a great price for it: $9.99.
