This update provides support for Java 3D and Java Advanced Imaging. Java 3D is an extension to the Java platform that allows for running 3D graphics applications and 3D applets on the internet. Java Advanced Imaging (JAI) Update extends the Java platform, allowing for image processing applications and imaging applets to be run in Java.
