Annotatings is a small application specifically intended to create text annotations, which you can insert on your documents, photographs, email messages and webpages. The tool is very easy-to-use; yet, it is a shame that the help you get is quite limited.
The tool prompts you to type your own text into the annotation. Then, you can easily set its properties. In this respect, you can pick the colors you want for the text, the background and the border. Besides, you can change the appearance of the annotations to make them look like comic blurbs, speech bubbles, framed words, etc. For instance, you can make the margin visible, adjust border width and round the corners. It is also possible to include arrows, which are also quite customizable by changing their base width and height. Moreover, you can adjust the opacity level of the whole image. Once you are done creating the annotation, you can simply click a button to copy it to the clipboard. Luckily, most applications, like email clients and document editors support pasting the copied image.
All in all, this tool lets you create annotations very easily. However, it would be nice if it came with some preconfigured styles, which could help you if your design skills are not so good. Finally, the product is shareware and can be tried at no cost.
