Aiseesoft Sony Converter for Mac can convert your video files so that you can play them on your Sony Ericsson phone, PSP, Walkman or other multimedia playback devices. It has very good input format support, but it can only convert files to AVI, MPEG-4, H.264, WebM and WMV. There are about 40 conversion profiles for various Sony devices, including the Playstation 3 and the PSP. The PS3 list includes a few HD profiles, which is great when you are converting HD files and you want to watch them on the big screen without losing much quality.
The application comes with a video editor that lets you trim and crop your videos and adjust some of their properties, like brightness, contrast and saturation. It also can be used to add watermarks to your videos.
The graphical user interface is identical to the one used in all the other Aiseesoft converters. It is simple and easy to navigate. It has a video player on the right and a toolbar with buttons that let you access the video editing features and open files at the top of the screen. At the bottom, you will find the format selection drop-down menu.
In my testing, I converted an MKV file to one of the PS3 HD profiles that use the H.264 codec. The process was quick and the resulting file looked great. The file I used was 30 seconds long, and it was converted in roughly 35 seconds, which isn't bad for HD content.
