Aiseesoft M4A Converter for Mac is an audio conversion utility. It can be used to convert M4A files to other audio formats, such as AC3, AIFF, WAV, MP3, MKA, OGG, WMA, AU, OGG, and MP2. You can also convert any of those formats into M4A. But, since the application doesn't restrict the files that you can open to audio files, you can also use it to convert your video files to audio files. This operation strips the audio track and discards the rest and it is very useful when you want to convert a music video into MP3 or M4A to play it on your iPod or other audio playback device.
The app comes with a simple editing tool that lets you trim your files to make shorter clips out of them. This editor is a stripped down version of the video editor that comes with Aiseesoft's video converters. The developers even forgot to remove the "effects" window, which lets you adjust brightness, contrast and saturation.
There is a player that you can use to listen to your files before conversion.
In short, this application works well, it is easy to use and it has good audio format support. The only bad thing is that it doesn't have any dedicated features for the conversion of audio files. It is simply a stripped-down version of a video converter. For an extra few dollars, you can get a video converter that will also be able to convert audio files.
