Since I work a lot as a traslator from English, I always have to deal with PDF-files, containing the original texts to be translated. The problem is that very often (almost always, actually) the translations is not the only thng I have to do; my clients want to have the page layout preserved, which is a challenging task if you use text recognition tools. The only program that can successfully help you out is Acrobat Pro that has the blessed feature of editing document text in its original fonts. In that case the work gets a bit slowed down, as Acrobate has a great memory use, but at the end of the day you have your work done.
The only problem with this piece of software is that it is incredibly exensive and will cost you US$449. Not such a small sum for an ordinary user, isn't it?
