4shared.com is a desktop utility for the 4shared.com service. It allows you to effortlessly upload files to the service from your Mac. This means that you don't have to open 4shared.com on your web browser to use the service any more. The application is free and you get 10 free gigabytes of storage. If you go over that, you will have to sign up for one of the paid plans.
The application is very simple. It consists of three main panels, one on the left and two on the right. The left one shows the folders on your 4shared account and its remaining space. The two right ones show the files on your account and folders, and the bottom one indicates the way the current file transfers. You can both download and upload files to and from your account, which is great. After a file is uploaded, you can click it and "Get links", which will open a new window with URL links and codes that you need to share the files on your website or with other people.
In short, the application works very well. It is fast and it's an ideal way to share files from your Mac. The only thing that I don't like about it is that when you click "Upload file", the window that you are shown to find your files isn't the system's default "Open file" dialog. It is a different one, and it isn't efficient and easy to navigate the system.
