As soon as they are detected, the tool offers to clean your system of similar items in order to gain valuable disk space. The program has an intuitive and very attractive interface that makes the search for duplicates an easy task to perform. Before starting the scan process, it is advisable to enter the search options. They are quite comprehensive and cover a large array of search-related issues. Therefore, you can enable the app to scan iTunes, iPhoto, and Photos libraries, as well as contacts and e-mails besides other computer locations you determine. You can make a fast search taking into consideration only the names of files and their extensions. For more accurate results, you can choose the comprehensive CRC32 checksum algorithm, which includes the file size criterion. Once the general settings are configured, you are expected to select the disk drives you want to scan. You can determine file size limits and specific file extensions to be taken into account in the search process, while other extensions can be skipped from scanning. At the end of the scan process, you are informed about the amount of inspected files, the total number of identified duplicates, and the size of regained disk space. For easy browsing through the results, the program sorts the duplicates by file type categories, such as video, music, documents, archives, and other unsorted types of files. A pie-chart representation of the identified duplicates allows you to see what types of files take most disk space. If the analysis of results takes longer than expected, you can export the list of duplicates to a TXT, CSV, or HTML file in order to continue the analysis later.
