Info updated on:

BiglyBT is an open-source program that provides MacOS users a way to download torrents. It contains no ads, doesn't cost a penny, and has no third-party tools.
The instalment can be completed by any novice user as it doesn't require advanced computer skills. The GUI is very practical, it includes lots of configuration options, and it even has some graphical customizations that can be applied. Yet, the font style and size can be improved.

As per what it can do, BiglyBT comes with a feature called Swarm Merging that manages to speed up the torrents that don't have available bits. It also lets users to download files from a specific country or network or ISP, and schedule the download by time of day.

Furthermore, it detects VPNs, provides support for I2P to enable anonymous download of files, has the ability to proxy search results and internal browser connections through Tor.

Last but not least, it includes a media player, with UPnP Media Server and DLNA support, and it supports media conversion.

Overall, BiglyBT is more than a decent torrent client and it embeds lots of modern features. However, when downloading large files it has the tendency to become sluggish.

I just switched from Vuze, and it was completely painless. It automatically configured itself from Vuze during install. It works well and is actively maintained and updated, unlike Vuze.
