My Samsung S6 is running Android 5.0.1 and I need Android File Transfer 3.0 or later to make it work, but all I can find is Android 1.0.5. Does anyone know where to find a later version that works?
If it cannot work, try to install Airdroid or Web PC Suite on your Android phone. Connect your phone with a Mac y scanning a QR code, then you can transfer files wirelessly between the two devices.
Unfortunately, Android File Transfer is no longer working on my HTC One M7 or Samsung Galaxy S4 after Android Kit Kat 4.4 update. Have contacted the carrier, phone maker and Google several times and they still have no fix for this.
I'm no Mac wiz, but I believe the File Transfer user interface is an application that looks like a Finder window, but is not a Finder window. And as such, it does not function like a Finder window. If the idea is to move pictures or videos from the phone to the Mac, you will not be able to see what's what since all you see with File Transfer is a file name. You also can't cut and paste between Android and Mac...you can only copy (which seems to be a common Mac deficiency anyway). Meaning, it super difficult to pick certain files on the phone to move to the Mac while leaving some alone. This adds a lot of extra steps to what should be the easiest and most basic of computer processes. The phone's file directory should open in Finder, period.
