Info updated on:

Amadeus Lite helps you edit audio. In this respect, the tool supports multiple file types, such as AIFF, WAV, MP3, WMA, Ogg Vorbis, Apple Lossless and ACC. The application’s interface is quite similar to those of other audio editors, which is an absolute advantage if you have previous experience with this kind of product. In this respect, it is excellent that you can work on various simultaneous projects.

It is possible to start from an existing file or even merge various of them. Thanks to its total integration with iTunes, you can readily import and export files to your music collection. In this respect, it is great that you can use metadata to identify the files. What is more, you can record sounds directly from a connected microphone. However, it does not seem to capture audio directly from the sound card.

Just like other audio editors, you can have visual feedback of your work as the tool shows the waveform. Similarly, it supports previewing your work before changes are actually made. In this regard, you can carry out such frequent operations as copying, pasting, cutting and deleting the selected segments. Moreover, it supports a unique feature called “paste over”, which automatically mixes two sounds. Another feature that may come in quite handy when dealing with long recordings is the possibility of adding markers to signal specific segments.

Amadeus Lite comes with various built-in effects, including graphic equalization, volume normalization, fade-in, fade-out, echo, speed change as well as pitch change. Likewise, it is allowed to generate silence. Fortunately, there are also some functions that can help you restore defective or old recordings. For instance, you can remove the hiss characteristic of old vinyl records. But, this is not all, the tool also extended the set of effects by installing plugins.

When you finish editing, the results can be saved to various file types, which allows using the product as an audio format converter. Equally, you can burn them directly to disc. And, of course, there is the above-mentioned possibility of exporting directly to iTunes.

All in all, Amadeus Lite is a good choice for editing audio as it comes with most of the features you can find in any modern editor. The product is available in two editions: Lite and Pro, with different features and prices.
