Xilisoft HD Video Converter

Xilisoft HD Video Converter is a multi-format video converter. It has great support for input formats, which means that you can open the most popular video formats with it.

You can then convert those files into a variety of other formats, including H.264, MPEG-4, AVI, DIVX, ASF, MKV, among many others. Seeing that there aren't any options to convert MKV files with subtitle tracks or multiple audio tracks (choosing which one you want to use, that is), I am taking it that this application was designed to let you convert your files to HD formats and not the other way around.

In terms of performance, Xilisoft HD Video Converter works very well. I used a 720p MKV file for my testing, and I converted it into an HD MPEG-4 file. The process took a little over 3 minutes for a 2-minute and a half video. That is on par with other apps in terms of speed.

Graphically, this app looks better than other Xilisoft apps for the Mac but it still has a bit of a Windows look. And I think they should work to make this app look like a native Mac app.

There are quite a few conversion profiles available, but I didn't see a video editor.
