Mac Informer tells me that there is an update for the above program, which is very true. What it doesn't tell me is that if I update I get a trial version and my registration details are not valid for this version. If I want the new version I must pay, though at a 50% discount. To get my old version back I had to use time machine, a very handy app, but would not have been necessary if I had the information to hand from Mac Informer.

The Mac Informer client doesn't display this data. Before you plan to update an application that you know it's shareware, I recommend checking with the developer's page first. You should be informed on its page what would happen if the update will take place through Mac Informer or not. Use the rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank" href="http://www.winzip.com/win/en/land_support.html">support page to find additional information related to this procedure.
