Review

Welly is a terminal client intended to browse BBS (bulletin board service) sites. In this respect, the app allows such operations as reading news and bulletins, uploading and downloading any type of data as well as communicating with others via message boards and chats. Regrettably, although the tool comes with help documentation, it is available in Chinese only.

The terminal client allows connecting to various bulletin board systems, including MITBBS, NewSMTH and PTT. Likewise, the tool supports Telnet and SSH protocols as well as HTTP, HTTPS, or SOCKS proxy servers.

The tool has a modern interface with tabs that allow you to browse different sites simultaneously. Good news is that each tab provides useful information about active connections and the number of messages to read. The tool can render fonts in various languages without difficulty as well as preview images, including their accompanying EXIF info. There are other convenient features, like the possibility to grab contents from the screen in different ways, including text copying, screenshots and full-text downloads.

Fortunately, Welly gives you the possibility of not only reading contents but also contributing with your own. In this respect, there an editor, which helps you compose your articles more fluently and accurately thanks to its support of rich formatting, spell-checking and undo/redo operations. more
