Safari browser offers the possibility of saving an entire page under the "webarchive" extension. The "webarchive" format stores HTML pages, media files (audio, video, graphics) under a single file container.

With WebArchive Folderizer you may reverse the process and extract the contents of such a container while preserving folder structure.

The application is able to help web developers to download only specific files that are included in a website structure (images, flash objects, JavaScript files, etc.). Data extraction is done simply by dropping webarchives into the application's drop zone. It automatically extracts files in a folder (bearing the same name as the archive), with the structure retaining the original directory hierarchy. The utility includes batch processing support; users can add multiple webarchives into the layout and they will all be extracted simultaneously.

WebArchive Folderizer may only be useful for a very limited number of occasions but it does work quite well and extracts all data quickly. However, it would prove more useful if it could extract only a user-defined group of formats (extension filter) and not all.

Pros

  • Drag and drop support
  • Maintains folder structure
  • Fast extraction process

Cons

  • No file filtering
