Viper FTP Lite is intended for transferring files. In this respect, it allows connecting to FTP servers using various protocols, such as FTP, SFTP and SFTP. Likewise, it supports other protocols (ex. WebDav and Amazon s3), which allows connecting to various cloud storage services. Besides, it is excellent that it keeps your data secure by using AES 256 encryption.
The client’s interface resembles that of a standard file manager, which means that it is unlikely that you have any difficulties to use it. In fact, it lets you browse local directories if you need to. Likewise, you can use standard operations like copy-and-paste as well as drag-and-drop to transfer files between locations. However, it is a shame that, unlike most other similar tools, you cannot open two different folders on the same window, which would help a lot in comparing, transferring and synchronizing data between two folders. It is also good that there is a built-in hex editor that lets you edit remote files.
Establishing a connection to a server is quite easy. For this purpose, there is a drawer in which you enter the server’s address as well as any authentication data if it is necessary. Likewise, you can bookmark frequently used servers so that you do not need to go through the whole procedure again. Other possible settings include using a proxy server and switching to passive mode. Luckily, all the customization can be saved in profiles for later use. more
