Videobox is program that enables you to download and convert online Flash clips. You can work with this application whenever you wish to save online clips from various video sharing websites like YouTube and play them on your multimedia devices (mobile phone, tablet, etc.) or Mac.
After you drag-and-drop the URL of the Flash video you wish to download over the app's main window, the program starts analyzing the clip. Once this process is complete, you can choose the preferred output profile and just wait for the results.
The utility can also be used to convert videos from your local directories to other formats. Furthermore, you can select as many input files as you want and choose individual output profiles.
This new version of Videobox still brings a disadvantage which could be found within previous releases: it offers a browser extension only for Safari (hence, Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome are not supported). Another thing I don't like is the fact that it doesn't support audio output formats (like MP3); so, you can't download and extract audio content from online Flash videos.
To summarize, Videobox is a Mac app that provides you with a quick way to download and convert online Flash clips. However, there are plenty of other download managers that provide you with additional features (support for audio output formats for instance) and come without a price tag or they're cheaper than Videobox.
