VidConvert is a commercial video converter for the Mac. It can be used to convert pretty much any popular video format into other video or audio formats.
Graphically, the application has a very plain user interface, which is intuitive and very efficient. It consists of a space for the files in your conversion queue, a toolbar at the top, and three drop-down menus at the bottom for the conversion settings. On the first menu, you choose the format that you want to use or a conversion profile, on the second one, you pick the quality setting, and on the third, you can set the folder where you want to save the file. If you want to further customize the conversion process, you can click on "Advanced" on the toolbar at the top of the screen.
In terms of performance, VidConvert works pretty well. It is fast and the files that it converts look very good. There are many settings that you can change manually to customize the process to your liking.
The only thing I don't like about this app is that you have to manually instal FFMPEG before you can start converting files. This means that you are installing a free conversion engine for the commercial application that you have just purchased.
