Trickster is a Mac utility that can help you boost up your productivity by giving you immediate access to recently used files and applications. This program also provides you with a simple and quick way to open favorite tools and files on your computer.

Before using the tool on your Mac you need to decide which folders to be monitored by Tricksters, select the file formats that need to be excluded from monitoring, etc. These settings can always be altered by going to the Preferences panel of the app. Afterwards, you can start using this program.

The application lives on your Menu Bar from where you can get access to the recently used apps and files, favorite items, etc. It features a built-in search tool, a Favorites panel, and a comprehensive help guide. In my opinion, the manual isn't necessary as Trickster is very intuitive.

I tested the program by renaming a file within one of the monitored folders. Trickster immediately displayed the name of the document in question in its recently used items window. I also noticed that it's possible to drag-and-drop files from Trickster's main window to folders within my Mac. Hence, the app provides you with file management features as well.

You can also use this program to copy the path of a recently used file to your clipboard, send documents to Trash, and so much more. So, if you want to work faster on your computer you should definitely give Trickster a try.
