Toast Titanium 10.0

Toast Titanium is an all-in-one CD/DVD burning suite. Toast Titanium is the burning app, but there are a few more apps that come in this suite: Mac2Tivo, DiscCatalogMaker RE, CD Spin Doctor, Streamer, Disc Cover 2 RE, and Get Backup 2 Re.

I will focus on the main app, Toast Titanium.

It is a single-window app that can tackle pretty much every CD/DVD burning and copying need. At the top of the application's window, there are buttons that take you to the different copying and burning functions available. The main five categories are Data, Audio, Video, Copy, and Convert.

For Data burning, Toast Titanium offers to burn data that can be only accessed on a Mac or both on a Mac or PC, which creates a mixed disc. You can also create photo discs or ISO 9660 or DVD UDF discs. I think those can be accessed on Windows as well.

The audio burner can create Audio CDs or Music CDs, along with Enhanced Audio CDs. Or you can simply create a MP3 disc that will be read by any computer.

Video burning is very interesting with Toast Titanium. It has support for creating DVD movies and Bluray-quality movies on DVD discs, which require a different plug-in. Also there are several compilation modes available.

I love the fact that Toast Titanium incorporates a video converter to the mix. The Convert button takes you to a similar screen that allows you to convert DVD movies or even files to video files that are playable on a variety of devices. By means of conversion profiles, Toast Titanium can convert files for playback on Apple TV, Xbox 360, iPods and iPhones and the PS3, among others. It can also convert audio files, image files, and more.

All in all, Toast Titanium is a very full-featured solution for every burning and copying need. It is not a free app, but it packs a punch for its price. I like all the extra goodies that you get with it and the fact that the user interface allows you to access all of the app's features from within a single window.
