Tipard iPhone to Mac Transfer Ultimate

Tipard iPhone to Mac Transfer Ultimate is an iOS backup utility. It lets you transfer data from your iOS device to your Mac.

There are many reasons why an app like this may come in handy. The main use that I would give it is to download songs, photos, or even a movie to a computer that is not my home computer. As you may know, iTunes doesn't really let you freely sync your devices with any computer. This application lets you download the data on your phone to any computer. It can also be useful in the event of a device crash.

There are two versions of this app: Standard and Ultimate. I did my review with the Ultimate version, which doesn't limit the types of content that you can back up. The Standard version imposes some restrictions. For example, with that one, you can't back up your SMS history, podcasts, iTunes U, TV shows, or contact information. Both devices let you transfer data to your Mac only. You won't be able to transfer data to your device with any of these two versions. There are other applications by Tipard that allow you to transfer files both ways, though.

When you first connect a supported iOS device, it will be listed on the left. Below the device name, you will see all the file types that you can back up. When you click on one of these buttons, a list of files will be shown on the right, from where you can check the files that you want to transfer.

There is a useful preview feature that lets you see your photos and listen to songs before you transfer them.

In my testing, the application worked well and it detected an iPhone 4 without any problems, so other iOS devices may be supported as well.

In conclusion, although this app works fine, I can't really recommend, mainly because of its price. I have seen apps that let you transfer any type of content both ways that are cheaper than this. There are other "to Mac" transfer apps by other developers that are cheaper than this as well, and work quite well.
