Tipard DVD to MP4 Suite for Mac combines both a DVD ripper and a video converter. Both are the MP4 versions by Tipard, which have a variety of conversion profiles that use the MPEG-4 and H.264 formats, but they also support other popular formats, including WMV, AVI, TS, and FLV. If you are thinking about buying a DVD ripper and a converter from Tipard, you will save some hard-earned dollars if you purchase this suite instead of both apps separately. Buying them separately will cost you $64, whereas this suite only costs $39.
Both applications come with a video editor that can be used to trim and crop your videos, adjust brightness, contrast and saturation and even apply watermarks to your converted clips.
The graphical user interface in both apps is pretty standard for video converters these days. There is a video player so that you can preview a DVD title or video file before converting it. At the bottom of the screen, you will find the format selection menu. There you can choose a format directly or a conversion profile. In both cases, you can click on the "Settings" button to change individual conversion settings.
I did my testing of this app by converting an MKV video into H.264 for the AppleTV. I have no complains with the process. The speed was good and the converted file looked almost identical to the source one.
