Time Out is an app that reminds you to take frequent breaks. It is always recommended that you take frequent breaks from any activity that takes a great deal of concentration. If you work with computers and are looking at the screen all day, you can suffer from headaches and back and neck pain. Time Out runs on your computer and you won't even notice it is running, until it makes you stop working and take a break. There are two types of breaks that Time Out can remind you about. The regular time outs appear every 50 minutes. You are supposed to get up from where you are sitting, take a little walk, stretch your legs and look around to change your eye focus. All of this for 10 minutes and then you are back to work. The micro breaks are similar, but are shorter and more frequent. And they also seem to be random.
You can customize many options from the settings window. You can choose how long you can work before getting a break, how long the breaks are, the fade in and fade out time for the break window, the appearance of the break window and whether you want to play sounds, when a timer is up. Or you can run a workflow, script or application at the start or end of the breaks.
All in all, if you work a lot with computers, this might be a good tool to have to keep you from going insane after a long day of work.
Time Clock was developed to help the user keep track of time spent on a project and remind the user when to take breaks.
