TableEdit is a free alternative to working with Apple's Numbers app or with Microsoft Excel for creating and editing spreadsheet files on your Mac.
The Welcome window lets you choose which type of task you wish to complete with the help of the TableEdit app. You can import a CSV or XLSX document and edit it, create a spreadsheet file from scratch, or access the help guide. The application was created in a way that any Mac user, no matter his or her computer experience, can easily handle it and get quality results in minimum time. Personally, I don't think you'll ever need to make any trips to the app's help guide as TableEdit is very simple to configure.
You can use this program to add or edit tables within a spreadsheet, generate charts (pie, bar, and line charts) based on the entered data, and insert functions. The app also enables you to alter the font style, cell data format, and spreadsheet background image if necessary.
Even though apps like Numbers or Microsoft Excel provide you with extra features, such as spreadsheet templates and additional editing options, I still think TableEdit is a smart solution for creating and altering CSV and XLSX documents.
