Right

The view at the right shows a table of all Apple software installations and updates which have been installed on that Mac, which not only includes system and security updates, but apps, components, and everything else too. By default, these are shown with the newest at the top, but if you tick the checkbox  Newest last  at the foot of the middle view, the order in this view will also be reversed, putting the oldest at the top.

For each item in the list, the date and time (in UTC) is given in the first column. This is taken from the actual installation record, and may differ from those given in the other two views. The second column gives the name of the package which was installed. Some installations and updates consist of two or more separate packages; SystHist lists them all individually here.

To see exactly what was installed in any of the packages, click on that row to see a popover window containing details.

SystHist then opens the ‘Bill of Materials’ for that installation, and lists the full path and name of each file installed, its size in bytes, and the datestamp of that file as installed on your Mac. This list can be very long, so the popover view lets you scroll down through the full list as necessary. You can copy text from here, but cannot save it directly.

Close a popover window by clicking on its  Close  button, clicking again on its row in the main view, or pressing the  Escape  key.

The information used for the overall list is taken from the installer receipts in /System/Library/Receipts and (in Catalina and later) those in /Library/Apple/System/Library/Receipts too, and that shown in the popover views is obtained from the respective .bom file for that package using the  lsbom  command.
