Super Crate Box

Super Crate Box is an incredibly fun platform game for Mac. There are two things that I first noticed while playing the game.

Firstly, the game features simple graphics. This is often considered a disadvantage but I didn't mind the simplicity of this game. Secondly, it is a fun game because you start playing and lose every 5 seconds.
In this game, your goal is to collect as many crates as you can while avoiding or killing enemies. When you collect a crate, you get a different weapon which you can shoot with the X button. Some weapons are more powerful than others and some of your enemies will have to be shot more times than others to be killed. The enemies come from the top of the screen, and die on a fire pit at the bottom. Some are faster than others. Some walk towards you and some fly which makes it difficult to avoid and kill all of the enemies at once.

The game controls are easy to learn and also easy to master. You control the character with the arrow keys and shoot with the X key.

The gameplay is intense and the action is fast-paced all the time. When you lose, you will see your score, your high score and how many crates you need to collect in order to unlock new weapons, levels and modes. I like that the menus and lose screens don't slow you down. If you hit enter, you are right back into the game, ready to play.
