There are many applications out there that can use Spotlight to search your machine for files, but there don't seem to be many that just let you view the metdata that Spotlight has indexed for a particular file. I wanted to be able to do so without resorting to the command line, so I whipped up Spotlight Browser.

Spotlight Browser is a useful tool for exploring your files and learning about what information Spotlight has indexed for them. It lets you browse the file system in a standard column view and view the list of indexed metadata for the selected file in a table beneoth the browser. You can also drag a files onto the window or dock icon to jump to that file directly.

Spotlight Browser is freeware and open source, so you can download both the program and its source code using the links on the right.
