Info updated on:

SourceTree is a powerful tool developed by Atlassian that acts like a browser for repositories (deposits) of data or information. It provides support for many clients for repository, but especially for Mercurial and Git, well-known repository applications. It provides a quick and simple way to keep in touch with various repositories and changes made upon them. It comes with a modern look and an appealing interface that combines with the easy-to-use menu in order to make this tool accessible for both beginners and experienced Mac users. It comes with drag & drop support, which makes it even more accessible.
What makes this feature-rich application different from other similar products is the fact that it provides a great support for repository clients, when most of the applications limit themselves to only one client.
It is a highly customizable application, and it allows the users to edit their preferences regarding general use, appearance, predefined settings for Git and Mercurial, but also allows the Mac users to create custom actions, which will use scripts and so on.

All in all, it is safe to say that SourceTree is a powerful tool for managing repositories and changes made on them; it is free, it has an appealing interface and an easy-to-use menu that will grant Mac users quick access to all of the features.
