SoundOut is an easy-to-use Mac utility that offers you a quick way to change the sound output device. This application you can see on your Menu Bar. It comes with simple-to-set-up options and immediately applies the necessary sound settings changes.
The app also provides you with direct access to System Sound Preferences panel which offers you additional audio options. I like the fact that SoundOut takes a very small amount of time to apply the sound changes.
Another good aspect about this program is that it uses minimum CPU resources while running in the background.
However, if you hold the Option key and click the sound volume icon from the Menu Bar, you gain access to the same audio device selection list. Unfortunately, not many Mac users are aware of this Mac feature and prefer installing additional apps on their computers for changing the sound output device.
To conclude, I'd like to say that it's worth buying SoundOut if you don't mind spending a few bucks. Personally, I prefer using the options of the Menu Bar by default and avoid installing a third-party app. So, it's up to you to decide whether it's worth acquiring this tool or not.
