Sonic Visualiser is a sound analysis utility crafted for people who want to study musical recordings on their Macs.
This tool is compatible with multiple audio formats, lets you choose between various view modes for the generated analysis data, and enables you to export segments from the imported musical recordings.
The only time the program didn't work well was when I tried to export the analysis report as a TXT file. The utility froze for more than 5 minutes and slowed down the performance of other running tools.
Still, when it comes to analyzing the imported content, Sonic Visualiser does an incredible job and provides you with accurate core waveform and spectrogram visualizations. Plus, you can export the offered information to various file formats, extract segments from the imported recordings, and the use the integrated recorder to capture sounds from your Mac. What's more, you don't have to pay a dime to use this program on your computer as Sonic Visualiser is open source.
