Song Sergeant is a program that comes in handy when dealing with a large collection of iTunes tracks which contains duplicates. By working with this application you can clear up your iTunes playlists of unnecessary songs and reclaim disk space on your computer with just a few clicks.
You don't need much experience in handling duplicate finders as this utility provides you with a straightforward interface and easy-to-configure scanning settings. The program automatically scans your iTunes library at its first launch and immediately offers you its results.
Apart from finding and erasing song duplicates from your iTunes playlists, this application also tracks down all orphan tunes (songs that exist within your iTunes media folder but are missing from your iTunes playlists). You can put the found tracks on your iTunes playlists or send them to recycle bin.
As I mentioned in a previous review for this application (for the 1.5 version of the app), Song Sergeant scans only your iTunes library to find duplicated tracks. This aspect might prove to be an important disadvantage if you intend to clear up your entire drive or a certain folder of unneeded song copies.
To summarize, I'd say you can find better solutions for locating and deleting tracks duplicates from your Mac computer. But if you only need an app to help you get rid of song copies from your iTunes library, you can definitely try this program.
