Soda Player supports playing a wide array of video and audio formats and is compatible with practically all codecs, including HEVC/H.265, AC-3, DTS and WebM. However, what makes it different from most other players is its support of BitTorrent streaming playback. Other features that deserve attention are also the possibility of streaming video to a television via Chromecast, Apple TV and AceStream as well as its automatic management of subtitles.

The app’s interface is very similar to those of other media players so it is unlikely that you have any difficulty to use its basic features. In this respect, it supports dragging the desired media files onto its interface. Luckily, you can even use the same operation with magnet links and torrent files.

Good news is that there is practically no delay when playing BitTorrent contents. Likewise, you will probably appreciate the fact that it hides your true online identity, which allows you to bypass local ISP restrictions. In this regard, there is a built-in SOCKS5 proxy client that does not require any setup.

Similarly, it is excellent that it can smartly manage transcoding video when connecting to external screens. So, it does not transcode the source when its codec is readily supported by the target device. In case it does not, the tool can use hardware encoding instead.

Another welcome feature is that it can find subtitles for your movies from different sources and in various formats. For instance, it supports embedded as well as external subtitles if they are present in the same folder or BitTorrent file. And when no matching subtitles are readily available, it can download them from OpenSubtitles.org. However, it has limitations regarding choosing the desired subtitle when a MKV file contains more than one.

All in all, Soda Player is recommended mostly for playing BitTorrent streaming media without delays or undesired pauses. It can also be used to play local media files as well. The product is absolutely free to use; an opportunity you should not miss.
