SnowFox DVD & Video to iPod Converter combines a video converter and a DVD ripper in a single package. Both applications can convert video to H.264 and MOV video formats and the MP3 and AAC audio formats. There are three conversion profiles for iPods in total, one for the iPod Nano and Classic and the other two for the iPod Touch. One of the iPod Touch profiles uses a resolution of 1280x720, which comes in handy if you want to use your device with its TV out feature onto an LCD screen or monitor.
The application's graphical user interface is very simple and that makes the application quite easy to use. On the left, you will see all the files or DVD titles on your conversion queue, and, on the right, there is a video player and the conversion settings. At the bottom of the window, you will be able to choose where your files are to be saved. You can either select a folder on your Mac or have the app add the files to iTunes directly, which saves you a couple of steps if you want to put the content on your iPod.
Although there is no video editor included with this app, you will be able to trim your videos from the Video Settings window. From here, you can also add external subtitles and change a few advanced settings.
In my testing, the application performed quite well while converting video files. The only problem that I experienced with it is that the trimmer doesn't seem to work.
