Simple Comic stays very true to its name and offers an intuitive way of reading comic book files. Cbr, Cbz are some of the formats supported by the application and are in fact image archives (Rar and Zip respectively), so Simple Comic combines the functionality of both image and archive viewers.
The utility includes a few features that makes it very easy to read comics, regardless of size. Users can change the order in which pages turn, switch between 2 types of page layout (single or dual mode), as well as modify how the page scales depending on the screen size.
The Thumbnail mode displays all the images within a comic book archive as thumbnails, taking up all the screen. I found this a very ineffective method of browsing through comic book contents unless reading the comic in full screen mode; images take a while to load and switching to full screen is not always very convenient.
When viewing images with small speech bubbles, zoom functions will help you read even the smallest print. In addition to zoom, the Image Loupe is available for enlarging circular areas of an image.
Simple Comic is easy to use, has a minimalistic interface and features support for popular comic book formats (Cbr, Cbz, Tar, Zip, 7z), as well as graphic ones (Png, Jpg, Bmp, Gif). One missing feature is a navigation sidebar that displays all comic book contents, integrated into the interface, unlike the present Thumbnails mode which automatically switches to full screen.
