Sim Daltonism is a program for Mac that simulates color blindness and displays the screen section around your mouse pointer in various view modes. With this application you can visualize screen areas the way some color-blind persons do on a daily basis.
The display modes are categorized according to their vision deficiency type: Dichromacy, Anomalous trichromacy, and Monochromacy. These three main view modes demonstrate how individuals with congenital color vision deficiencies perceive different shades.
The program also provides you with a normal trichromatic view which shows how people with no sight problems see.
An advantage of working with this application is the fact that it allows you to enable more than one floating filter panel at a time. This way, you can check the obvious differences between the color blindness displays and the normal view.
Cutting a long story short, Sim Daltonism is a simple program useful not only for developers interested in creating applications for color-blind people, but also for casual users who only wish to know how color-blind people see. The app brings a straightforward interface, doesn't use a high amount of CPU resources, and is free of charge.
