QuickMask

QuickMask is a very simple application that enables the user to import a graphic file with an alpha layer and generate a mask file compressed in JPEG.

It's an ideal application for IDE users who want to save time by quickly generating mask images instead of applying specific effects and choosing the right graphic format. One can certainly use Apple's Preview to generate the same kind of mask files by manipulating Brightness, Contrast and Exposure under the Adjust Color window.
